Dear Members & Friends,
Given the uncertain time we are all experiencing in one way or another, the EWQA wants to keep industry professionals informed. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have all order non-essential businesses to shut- down. There may questions as to what is considered essential and non-essential businesses. Federal guidelines allow states and local authorities to determine what is essential businesses during an emergency. Industries that are industries identified as essential include grocery stores and food production, pharmacies, health care, utilities, shipping, banking, other governmental services, law enforcement and emergency personnel.
The EWQA supports home bottled water delivery services and water treatment and conditioning services as essential businesses. Water treatment professionals and plumbers play an important role in promoting public health and safety, and are highly essential in this state of emergency.
Businesses that are open and providing services within the home should exercise additional precautions to reassure clients and follow all CDC guidelines.
We will keep you updated as we receive more information. For the latest on CDC Guidelines go to: http://www.wqa.org/coronavirus
